D’Angelo’s Pizza and Pasta

street entrance / sign / D’Angelo’s
D’Angelo’s restaurant is located in Los Corales (see Map 5 & Los Corales Detailed Map). Just 3 mins walk from the beach the restaurant sits amongst lush vegetation in a pretty, Mediterranean style courtyard.
The restaurant serves Italian cuisine with a large variety of pizzas, pastas, meat and fish dishes. The pizzas are very good and HUGE! There is a spacious, breezy upstairs terrace and plenty of shade from the sun downstairs on their patio. There are several wines to choose from and wine is also available by the glass. Stop by for a pizza or just for a coffee and their free wifi. Take away and delivery service is also available.

Eating here tonight was the WORST restaurant experience in Punta Cana. I would not eat here again if it were free. Menu in Spanish only and server and owner speak no English. I ordered one of the two chicken dishes, which, according to the menu, came “con nuestra salsa” (WITH OUR SAUCE). It was PLAIN chicken on a plate. Tough as shoe leather. (my hubby ordered chicken milanese, and it was a PLAIN chicken cutlet on a plate) The photo on the menu showed some sort of fresh veggie combination–avocados, peppers, tomatoes perhaps? I tried to communicate that I wanted what was in the photo. I understood that everything was extra, and I was certainly willing to pay extra–I just wanted it. The server just kept saying “no, no.” I finally went and talked with the owner, and pointed out that the menu said, “con nuestra salsa.” She finally conceded that yes, the menu does say that (duh!) and she said she would bring me some. I received a dish of SUPER salty spaghetti sauce that I could hardly eat. We could not get out of there fast enough. I understand they have some good food, but our experience was a disaster.
Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your dining experience. It is common for menus outside of the resorts to be only in Spanish (this is after all a Spanish speaking country!). However, there is no excuse for bad customer service!
