Chez Mon Ami is a cosy little French bistro styled restaurant come lounge bar that’s very popular with the local residents of Punta Cana. It is situated in Plaza Nautica on the main road before the entrance to Cortecito (see Map 4). Within easy walking distance of Palladium Resorts and Hotel Carabela Beach.

At lunchtime they offer a light menu of salads and sandwiches. On the evening menu you can find a variety of international dishes some with a distinct French flair – like their scrumptious sounding tiger prawns in cream and pastis sauce – mmmm soak up that creamy sauce with un peu de pain...
As Dominican bred beef unfortunately does not make for a good steak Chez Mon Ami uses quality, imported cuts – their Churrasco is a popular choice, served with a variety of sauces to choose from. Another local favorite is their Fondue Bourguignon.
The food at Chez Mon Ami is consistently good and the service is friendly and attentive. The prices are very reasonable (menu prices include 16% tax).

Chez Mon Ami is not only about the food, it’s a great place to socialise too. There’s a small bar (happy hour 5pm to 7pm) and a comfy seating area with free wifi. They show the big hockey games and football matches too (a good place to watch the world cup matches). You can even partake in a Hookah session should you wish – tobaccos perfumed with apple, mango or strawberry are available for your inhalation pleasure.

The atmosphere at Chez Mon Ami is unpretentious and relaxed. Don’t be put off because this restaurant is not beach-front. If you want good, tasty, inexpensive food in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere then visit Chez Mon Ami. The fact that Punta Cana’s discerning locals go back night after night is proof in itself that this little restaurant is a gem.
