Water conditions: The water at Dreams Punta Cana can be wavy at certain times of the year but there are usually some calm spots near the beach and to the left. The area to the right can have waves for boogie/body boarding. Very little fast boat traffic in this area. Observe the swim/no swim flags.
Snorkeling: On calmer days you can snorkel around the coral that acts as a natural breakwater for the beach, head towards the left side of the beach where the watersports center and water trampoline are located. The water here is usually calmer.
Snorkeling gear is free for 1 hour each day with a 20$US returnable deposit or you can rent for longer.
